About the author:
Alston Purvis is a graphic designer, artist and chairman of the Graphic Design Department at the Boston University College of Fine Arts. He has written numerous books on the history of graphic design and was the co-author with Philip B. Meggs of the 4th edition of Megg's History of Graphic Design, which is the standard book in the field. He also wrote a well-received book about his father, the FBI agent who took down John Dillinger: The Vendetta: FBI Hero Melvin Purvis's War Against Crime, and J. Edgar Hoover's War Against Him (2005). Martijn F. LeCoultre is one of the world's leading poster collectors and the author of several books on 20th century graphic design.
